Celebrity Fashion Styles to follow

We’ve missed following celebrity fashion this year as many of our favorite celebrities stayed close to home. But now, as our favorite celebrities start coming out from behind closed doors and making actual appearances - or even virtual appearances - at gala events like the Academy Awards, we can get a quick peek at what celebrity styles we can follow, too.

The Little Black Dress

Crochet-Lace Bodycon Dress

Designers are still bringing out the black dress, but in different lengths including knee-length, midi and maxi length. Let’s face it: the black dress, such as this Crochet-Lace Bodycon Dress, is a marvelous wardrobe staple as it can be worn just about anywhere. For many functions and celebrations, all you need to add to a little black dress is a statement piece of jewelry to make it look really elegant. These dresses look equally great worn out in the sunshine and dressed down with a pair of sandals, sunglasses and large tote bag. The advantage of this style is that it suits so many shapes and sizes. Expect many celebrities to follow this current designer style and step out in their little black dresses at evening events and on the beach.

Joyful Prints

Pleated Print Maxi Skirt

Expect to see at least one of your favorite celebrities stepping out in a vintage-inspired print dress. These are being made in a range of joyful colors that will brighten up any day, like this Pleated Print Maxi Skirt. The prints are in bright, playful designs, with designers such as Versace indulging in a glorious parade of Hawaiian-inspired prints at his latest catwalk show. Both men and women can wear this type of shirt, which looks good teamed with shorts, a plain T-shirt and trainers. It's a great outfit that you can expect to see some of your favorite celebs wearing over the summer.

An Oriental Flavor

Another style you can expect to see celebs wearing this year is based on the traditional oriental style of dress and narrow collar. These shift-type dresses, often in beautiful jewel colors of pinks and blue with tiny floral prints, have a simple and classic look that can be accessorized with the right jewelry and bags to wear either during the day or for a night out at a beach party.

Loving the Neutrals

Many fashion houses this year, such as Jaeger, Valentino and Hermes, are bringing out their own versions of fashionably tailored pants and jackets in neutrals such as soft beige, or what are now being called cappuccino palettes. These outfits can be teamed with sparkly sequined tops to lift the neutral color and add a playful side to the tailored suit. Combined with chocolate brown accessories such as belts and handbags, expect to see these gorgeous suits being worn by celebrities at a lunch party or just out shopping.

The '80s are Back!

Puff Sleeves

Back in the '80s, large puffed sleeves were in style - the bigger, the better. This trend has been resurrected and has been seen a lot on the catwalks this year. Lacy blouses are also given this vintage romantic treatment and a loose cut, which will look great on a summer’s day. Evening dresses are also styled with puff sleeves, which will supply an added formal structure to any evening dress. This puffed-sleeve style has become a favorite with celebrities at award evenings or celebrity parties and is definitely a style that will get you noticed.

Midi Dresses and Skirts

Look out for celebrities wearing midi-length dresses and skirts. This flattering look, teamed with sandals or slip-on shoes, will definitely be around all summer. Dresses are worn in tiny printed fabrics and teamed with a short jacket. The length to look out for is midi to maxi. Perhaps you may already have a midi dress in your wardrobe; if so, team it with a short denim jacket, clogs or sandals and a long gold chain for this current celebrity look.

Fabulous Oscar Dressing

One of the favorite styles of celebrity dresses this year at the Academy Awards was the cut-out dress. With minimal "bikini-like" tops and flowing maxi skirts in rich colors of bright red, glowing golds and plenty of sequins, this style was followed by a few celebrities.

Seeing what our favorite celebrity is wearing is a great way to find inspiration for our own wardrobes. You can see what looks good or what is best avoided. Just by picking one or two new items, you can be up-to-date with your fashion without having to break the bank.
